Since the beginning of time, man has always been fascinated with the quest for the “fountain of youth”.   We may say that the cause for that interest is that, man is naturally vain or that man has a fear of aging and death.  Anywhere we look right now, we are bombarded with the concerns of people on the quest for anti aging.

What Is Anti Aging?

As we know, humans are made and composed of matter.  And also, every matter has its own lifespan, meaning, each and every one of us will face death sooner or later because it is the second most sure thing that would hit you in life next to taxes.  That is why, today, we may realize that there is a great number of doctors and researchers that believe that we could slow and somehow reverse the process of aging.

Anti-aging refers to the minimizing the effects of aging and also delaying its process.  These researchers and doctors believe that there are factors that could determine how well we could age.  It could be said that our aging may depend upon how well we use and abuse our body.

The thing is, right now, anti aging is no more of a fiction. It is a growing fact that anti aging is now a new and growing medical field dedicated to new researches on how we could formulate procedures to combat the signs of aging.

Diet and Exercise

According to research, one factor that could determine how well we would age is through our diet and exercise.  It has been said that our caloric restriction and exercise contribute to the process of slowing down in destructing our cells and tissues when aging.  Scientists are not yet sure how it works and why it is one of the major factors in contributing to aging, however, they have developed numerous theories.

Caloric restriction may seem to reduce damage from the chemical metabolic process like oxidative, thought to be the leading cause of cellular damage.  And now to combat this, we must use a high-quality anti-oxidant to boost our immune system and avoid certain cancers.

Exercise may be the fastest way to look younger but unfortunately, this is the one activity that we most likely want to avoid.  It has always been proven that exercise not only make us feel good and look good, it also gives us more strength and energy, and also give us a better bone density.

Other benefits that we could get from exercising are, it speeds up our metabolism, increase the circulation in our entire body, increase our lung function, and the release of endorphins that drives away our stresses in life and depression.  Lastly, and the most important, it increases our lymphatic function.

The Key

As a whole, the key to anti aging or we may put it as, aging well is, “moderation”.  It is best to know that one must not abuse and overuse his or her own body.  Just small improvements on diet and exercise may already produce a great impact on us, promoting a healthier and longer life.  Anyway, life is meant to be enjoyed.  It is just important for us to sometimes listen to our body and take good care of it.  Just live life to the fullest, avoiding abuse and overuse to our body, and we could guarantee that we will have a healthy and disease-free.
